Rainer Ebert is a philosopher primarily interested in moral philosophy and currently a Ph.D. student at Rice University. Before arriving in Texas in 2010, he spent four years at Heidelberg University where he earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics.
He has lectured and published across four continents on topics such as human rights, animal ethics, logic and string theory.
Rainer is an academic, but also an activist. He believes that philosophy can, and must, involve itself in the pressing social and political issues of our time. He has been engaged in the animal rights movement, the fight against extreme poverty and the struggle against the discrimination against sexual minorities.
