Something evil this way comes

I was reading a news item with great alarm the other day. Bdnews24 is reporting that the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is touting Bangladesh's intention to "back Saudi Arabia in fight against terrorism". This is rather a stunning play with words and facts. If there is one indisputable front for terrorism in terms of philosophy, manpower, money and plots, it has to be Saudi Arabia and its Wahhabi stained rulers and the wealthy classes.

What is Bangladesh going to back? Saudi murderous rampage in Yemen, Saudi support for Al Nusra Front in Syria and various factions of ISIS, or the Saudi mullahs who want husbands to beat their wives, albeit lightly? When, oh when will we acknowledge evil as evil and cut ties with these monsters and try not to get under the same tent of deception and intolerance. Bangladesh does not need to back the Wahhabis and facilitate more murders. It needs to stop money from these evildoers seeping into the dens of militancy in places like Hathazari and so many of the madrassas and training centers.

As I was writing this little missive, the Istanbul Airport bombing happens. Turkey, the seat of the old Islamic Caliphate was targeted by the new Caliphate. What this shows is that there is no escape from the zealots no matter how compliant a government is. Until now the Turkish government which is itself has Wahhabi leanings and is good friends with murderous Saudis, have allowed the foreign fighters cross the Turkish/Syria border to join up with ISIS in Raqqa, and allowed ISIS to use Turkey as rear area for rest and recreation for the ISIS soldiers. Many of the ISIS wounded are treated in medical facilities in Turkey. Essentially, Turkey has become the strategic rear echelon for ISIS. After the Istanbul bombing many Western observers said Erdogan (the Islamist Turkish Premier who is aspiring to be the new Sultan) was riding a Tiger and now he has fallen off. I think it is more like copulating with a Cobra. No matter how much love and affection you give to a Cobra, it will revert to its very nature and bite your head off at the first opportune moment. Erdogan, the so called moderate Muslims, the Islamic clergy, and our Prime Minister are all fooling themselves when they try to make nice with the Wahhabis and their Saudi patrons. There is nothing but evil in the twisted Wahhabi minds.

I am reminded of Ilya Ehrenburg on the eve of Russian breakthrough onto Prussia during the final stages of the Second World War in late 1944. He famously wrote, "Kill! Kill! In the German race there is nothing but evil; not one among the living, not one among the yet unborn is anything but evil!" Ilya was giving voice to rage and frustrations after years of atrocities by the Nazis in the Soviet Union. Similarly, the Jihadists do not deserve our understanding, our compassion and our forgiveness. I will leave the forgiveness to the Dalai Lama. I would rather figure out a way to send them all to Paradise where they have 72 virgins waiting for them. The faster the better.

Few days have gone by since I started to write this piece. Today is Friday July 1, 2016, and I am watching the live feed on CNN about the attack on a restaurant in Gulshan. So far they are reporting 2 Police officers killed and as many as 20 held hostage. By all accounts it seems to be the work of the Jihadists and not the PM's political opponents. One of the reasons an attack like this can happen has do with the massive confusion about identifying the true culprits. When the enemy is defined and identified, then and only then can one put together a comprehensive plan to fight the enemy. The Prime Minister has decided to bury her head in the sand like an ostrich. The government is focused on blaming BNP and other assorted villains. However, she refuses to acknowledge the bald facts that are staring at her point blank. It is virtually certain that, the assaulters of the Gulshan restaurant are Jihadists and Wahhabi nutcases. Within the last few minutes ISIS has claimed credit for the attack and hostage situation in Dhaka. So, dear Prime Minister, if you do not acknowledge even the existence of the Islamist Wahhabis, ISIS, AQIS etc., and take succor from the regime that is financing both the local and international murderers, how do you propose to stop these attacks and ensure security for the people?

The Saudi regime wants to make the rest of the Ummah in their very austere and intolerant image. However, how can these guys claim legitimacy? The House of Saud is the creation of the British Empire through their agent Kim Philby. "Beginning in January 1917, Ibn Saud was put on £5,000 monthly retainer. Of and on after that, Philby would serve as Saud's British handler." (Devil's Game by Richard Dreyfuss). The British helped Ibn Saud join up with fanatical Muhammad Abd-Wahhab, the founder of the fanatical Wahhabi cult and Ikhwaan. The British used this unholy alliance to destabilize the Ottoman Caliphate based in Constantinople, today's Istanbul. Hundred years on, bolstered with huge oil money that unholy alliance marches on. Al Qaeda, ISIS are all children of the intolerant world view that Ibn Saud and Abd Wahhab cooked up in the waning days of the last Islamic Caliphate, aka, the Ottoman Empire.

The attack on innocent people eating at a restaurant, attack on people traveling to go their loved ones, are the acts of cowards. The dark heart of the Wahhabi fanatics keeps on beating because the House of Saud has the means and desire to continue sowing the seeds of destruction of the Islam I knew growing up in Bangladesh. The House wants to keep the Iranian mullahs in check while they run roughshod on 1.7 billion Muslims. We cannot and should not allow that to happen. Let us take off the shades and behold the evil as it is. Our duty is to crush these monsters who have hijacked the religion of my parents and grandparents. There cannot be any cooperation with these murderers. We need to eliminate them completely.
